They are seeking a Head of Project Finance & Strategic Investments to lead the evaluation, acquisition, and financing of residential solar platforms and project pipelines while structuring them into scalable investment portfolios.

Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and engage residential solar companies or portfolios of operating and in-development projects for potential acquisition or partnership
Lead commercial, financial, and operational due diligence on residential solar platforms and pipelines, including:
Customer contracts and credit profiles
Project economics and incentives
Development risk, geographic concentration, and execution history
Assess how residential solar assets can be integrated with battery storage, EV charging, and grid-services infrastructure to enhance portfolio value and returns
Work closely with internal teams and external advisors to support acquisitions, platform investments, or structured partnerships
Design and implement frameworks for packaging distributed energy assets into institutional-quality portfolios
Define risk allocation, disclosure standards, and underwriting criteria across solar, storage, and EV charging assets
Develop repeatable structures that allow assets to be financed, refinanced, or sold efficiently over time
Support pilot portfolios and “proof-of-concept” transactions to demonstrate scalability
Lead capital-raising efforts across project-level and portfolio-level structures, including:
Tax equity
Debt (warehouse, term, structured)
Sponsor or strategic equity
Engage a broad range of capital providers, including banks, infrastructure funds, family offices, and institutional investors focused on ROI in energy
Evaluate innovative financing approaches and non-traditional investor pools as the platform evolves
Partner with senior leadership to align financing strategy with deployment timelines and growth objectives
Act as a core architect of the financing platform, helping define long-term strategy, market positioning, and capital structure
Collaborate closely with executive leadership, development, and operations teams
Help build and mentor a small, high-impact project finance and investment team as the platform scales
Contribute to the potential formation of a spinoff financing entity, with meaningful long-term equity upside

Required

10+ years of experience in project finance, structured finance, M&A, or capital markets, with strong exposure to residential solar and/or distributed energy
Demonstrated experience evaluating and packaging residential solar assets for investment or acquisition
Strong understanding of residential vs. utility-scale solar risk profiles
Strong understanding of customer credit, contract structures, and incentive economics
Strong understanding of battery storage and ITC considerations
Proven ability to lead due diligence processes and structure complex transactions
Experience raising capital from banks, infrastructure funds, or other institutional investors
Highly comfortable operating in fast-moving, less structured environments

Preferred

Background at a residential solar platform, energy infrastructure investor, or innovative clean-energy startup
Experience working with or adjacent to storage, EV charging, or grid-services assets
Entrepreneurial mindset — excited by building frameworks where none exist
Strong commercial instincts paired with disciplined risk assessment
Motivated by long-term platform equity and value creation
