The Director of Process Engineering will oversee the Process Reliability Organization and ensure sustainable process engineering and technology services for all manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Assures the functioning of Tech Manager Network and process technology teams (Tech Teams)
Assures systems and practices are developed and executed that result in long-range development of process engineering competencies, tools, structure and best practices company-wide
Oversees development and ongoing quality of company’s Process Engineering functions
Assures all engineering activities are in accordance with organizational standards
Oversees key positions assigned to select SPECIAL OPS teams, focused primarily on Process Technology
Participate in long range strategic planning and decision making relative to HF Sinclair Manufacturing Assets. Identifies and develops options around significant refining threats and opportunities (examples may include new product specifications or new environmental rules)
Support cross-discipline or cross-functional initiatives needing process engineering expertise such as major capital, refinery routine capital, and commercial/ operations
Generates new ideas and ways to improve profitability or new commercial opportunities
Evaluates new ideas and processes that will improve the Company’s profitability or competitive position
Support developing and evaluating major capital projects, considering long-term economics and maximizing NPV contribution to HF Sinclair
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 15 years of experience, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the refining industry
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a chemical engineering field
Proven leadership ability
Good spreadsheet, database and word processing applications knowledge
Advanced time-management, organizational, project planning and management skills
Demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects
Advanced verbal and written communications and reading skills
Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to others
Presentation, negotiation and organizational skills
Ability to communicate technical plans, strategies and designs with all levels of the organization
Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
Proficient in procurement, budgeting and cost management
Knowledge of refinery principles, safety practices, and regulatory compliance procedures
Manages/Supervises greater than 3 senior Process Engineer Technology Specialists
Office and field based with travel up to 30% of the time is required
Preferred
A Master's Degree in a science or engineering related field
