System Architect
eNGINE is a Solutions and Placement firm focused on building technical teams and enhancing career fulfillment through challenging projects. They are hiring an IT Business Architect to evaluate and modernize the bank's internal application portfolio while ensuring integration within the broader banking ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Evaluate existing internal applications and platforms across the bank’s portfolio to identify improvement, modernization, or replacement opportunities
Partner with business stakeholders to translate functional and regulatory needs into practical, scalable solution architectures
Lead architectural assessments for build vs. buy decisions, including analysis of integration impacts, data dependencies, and operational considerations
Design end-to-end application and integration architectures aligned with enterprise standards and cloud strategy
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC, GLBA, PCI-DSS)
Produce architecture artifacts such as solution diagrams, system interaction maps, and data flow models
Guide development and delivery teams during implementation, ensuring architectural integrity and alignment
Participate in architecture governance and review forums
Promote scalable, maintainable, and resilient solutions across the application landscape
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
7+ years of experience in application architecture, solution architecture, or senior software engineering roles
Financial services or banking experience is required(digital banking, lending, payments, CRM, or customer platforms)
Strong experience designing and integrating cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Solid understanding of APIs, system integrations, and data flows across enterprise platforms
Familiarity with security, risk, and compliance standards in regulated environments
Ability to evaluate technology platforms without being tied to a single vendor or stack
Preferred
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate) is a plus
