Starbucks Manager

Responsibilities

Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service
Assist customers by making product suggestions and filling special orders
Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions
Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed
Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees; oversee and assist with preparation, brewing, and serving food items
Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques
Brew coffee and tea; maintain hot and cold foods to company standards
Operate electronic cash register to total customer bills, accept payment, and make correct change
Maintain case cleanliness and visual appeal; ensure proper sanitation and appearance of Starbucks area and equipment
Ensure temperatures are maintained during preparation, display, and storage
Build displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products
Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays
Use and operate related equipment such as kitchen utensils, conventional and microwave ovens, coffee grinder, coffee machine, espresso machine, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks
Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees
Ensure adequate coverage and service levels through proper scheduling
Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures
Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement
Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance
Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions
Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department
Follow and maintain department standards for handling quick-sale items
Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations
Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability
Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks
Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness
Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products
Organize and maintain cooler
Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product
Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines
