Licensing Intern
Hadron Energy, Inc. specializes in Micro Modular Reactor development and is seeking a Licensing Intern to support their Licensing and Regulatory Affairs team. The intern will assist in managing documentation for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing process and gain hands-on experience in regulatory engagements and public policy related to advanced nuclear technologies.
Responsibilities
Support preparation, formatting, and organization of NRC licensing submittals, white papers, and regulatory correspondence
Assist in tracking NRC requests for additional information (RAIs), action items, and regulatory milestones
Help maintain document control, version tracking, and records management for licensing materials
Conduct research on NRC regulations, regulatory guidance, and advanced reactor policy developments
Assist with preparation of presentations and briefing materials for NRC public meetings and internal reviews
Support coordination of meetings, agendas, and notes related to NRC and government engagements
Work with engineering teams to help gather and organize technical inputs for regulatory documents
Monitor NRC rulemakings, Federal Register notices, and public meeting summaries relevant to microreactors
Assist with quality checks to ensure licensing documents meet internal QA and formatting standards
Contribute to internal documentation, trackers, and summaries used by the licensing team
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Public Policy, Engineering Management, or a related field
Strong interest in nuclear regulation, reactor licensing, and government processes
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management tools
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured, process-driven environment
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment
Passion for clean energy and advancing safe nuclear technology
Preferred
Familiarity with NRC regulations (10 CFR Parts 50, 52, or advanced reactor frameworks) is a plus but not required
