Media Relations Manager

HolterMedia is a boutique sports marketing and media relations agency seeking a Media Relations Manager with strong organizational skills and a passion for storytelling. The role involves planning and executing media relations campaigns, managing on-site operations at events, and developing creative messaging to enhance client visibility in the media.

Responsibilities

Creatively pursue coverage that is relevant and true to each client’s unique message
Be a welcoming host to media covering events
Continuously monitor and adapt to the latest trends and technology in the everchanging media landscape
Develop messaging and talking points
Cultivate and maintain contacts at relevant outlets, including news, sports, entertainment, travel and business media
Make creative story pitches to appropriate media members
Write and produce media releases, web stories, fact sheets, media guides and other materials
Provide statistical research
Maintain historical records and archives
Work with event organizers to operate on-site media centers
Process media credential applications through third-party vendors
Prepare and, if necessary, implement crisis communications plan
Serve as spokesperson when appropriate
Monitor media coverage and produce coverage reports for stakeholders
Contribute to content creation for social media campaigns
Liaise with league communications teams and player representatives regarding coverage opportunities and messaging
Work with corporate partners to develop appropriate storylines and coverage opportunities
Adhere to established brand standards for each respective client
Roll with it when other responsibilities not mentioned need handling
