Responsibilities
Pricing Analytics: Design, develop, and implement advanced pricing models and algorithms to optimize pricing for our diverse portfolio of products. Conduct detailed analysis of customer price sensitivity, elasticity, competitor pricing strategies, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for price optimization
Commercial Effectiveness Analysis: Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and market trends to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of our commercial strategies. Identify key drivers of sales performance and provide data-driven recommendations to improve sales force effectiveness, customer segmentation, and marketing initiatives
Actionable Insights and Recommendations: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership and commercial teams. Develop and present compelling narratives that drive strategic decision-making and lead to measurable improvements in revenue and profitability
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with stakeholders across various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product Management, to understand their challenges and objectives. Ensure that data science projects are aligned with business goals and the insights are effectively integrated into their processes
Influence and Adoption: Act as a data evangelist, championing the use of data-driven decision-making throughout the commercial organization. Skillfully influence stakeholders at all levels to adopt new strategies and analytical recommendations
Predictive Modeling: Build and deploy predictive models to forecast demand, identify customer churn risk, and uncover upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Experimentation: Design and execute A/B and multivariate tests to evaluate the impact of pricing changes and other commercial initiatives
Data and Tools: Work with large and complex datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity. Utilize a range of data science tools and technologies, including Python or R, SQL, and data visualization platforms, to perform analysis and build models
Qualification
Required
Typically 8 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience
5+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, with a focus on pricing, revenue management or commercial analytics
Expert proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis
Strong experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modeling
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Proven ability to analyze large, complex datasets and extract meaningful insights
Demonstrated ability to understand business challenges and translate them into data science problems with a strong focus on driving business outcomes and delivering a positive return on investment
Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across different functions and levels of the organization
Proven experience in influencing others to adopt recommendations and drive change, even without direct authority
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong communication skills to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations
Excellent understanding of industry practices
Strong proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures
Excellent planning/organizational skills and techniques
Excellent independent decision making, analysis and problem solving skills

Preferred
Experience in the healthcare or distribution industry is highly preferred
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline
Master's degree or global equivalent preferred
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
