Activities Aide
Aventura Health Group is seeking an Activities Aide to assist in planning and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a long-term care facility. The role focuses on enhancing residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being through meaningful engagement and person-centered programming.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing and carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs for residents
Lead individual and group activities such as crafts, music, exercise, games, outings, and special events
Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one engagement for those unable or unwilling to join group activities
Transport, escort, or assist residents to and from activities using proper safety and mobility techniques
Observe and document resident participation, preferences, behavior changes, and progress
Help set up, organize, and clean activity areas, supplies, equipment, and materials
Support the planning of holidays, birthday parties, themed events, and family engagement activities
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, therapists, and other team members regarding resident needs
Follow all infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures
Assist with maintaining calendars, event boards, and resident activity schedules
Build positive, supportive relationships with residents while promoting dignity, autonomy, and inclusion
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Ability to motivate, engage, and support residents with differing cognitive and physical abilities
Creative, patient, energetic, and compassionate demeanor
Basic computer skills for documentation (depending on facility)
Ability to lift, move, or assist residents as needed
Preferred
Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities
