Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Construction Worker to join their Rebuild team in Western North Carolina, focusing on rebuilding homes impacted by natural disasters. The role involves leading volunteers, ensuring quality construction work, and maintaining safety standards while serving the community.

Responsibilities

Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him

Work jointly with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair both stick built homes and manufactured homes in the affected area

Work with and lead volunteers

Apply your construction abilities to set up mobile homes as part of our manufactured home replacement program for victims of natural disasters

Work with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed

Ensure the quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard

Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and assure all work is done according to safety standards

Maintain security of all materials and equipment at job sites

Ensure quality and adherence to Samaritans Purse policies from hired subcontractors

Inspect all jobs, ensuring work is performed per federal, state, and local laws and codes

Communicate and minister to homeowners and partners, keeping them informed of the team's work and projected needs

Required

One-year certificate from college or technical school and three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to obtain a drivers medical card (required)

Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection

Fluency in English (required)
