Intern - Sustainability
MaineHealth is the state of Maine’s largest employer, dedicated to advancing environmental stewardship through its Sustainability Department. The Intern role provides administrative and project support focused on advancing waste minimization initiatives across MaineHealth facilities to support the organization's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Responsibilities
Provides administrative and project support within assigned department
Gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment
Focus their time on advancing waste minimization throughout MaineHealth
Work towards implementing the identified opportunities for improvement at each of the 12 MH facilities
Work in collaboration with the Sustainability Committees and leadership teams
Create project plans for each of the waste reduction initiatives
Develop a system for data collection and analysis to track progress
Organizing, leading and monitoring various projects
Visiting hospitals, virtual meetings, emails, research and project management tasks
Qualification
Preferred
Student who is currently enrolled in a two-year Associate's Degree program, Bachelor's Degree program, or graduate-level program preferred
