The role involves interviewing patients and families, calling local pharmacies, and entering information into a computer system for use by healthcare providers.

Independently obtain medication and allergy histories for patients that will be admitted to the hospital
Obtain information by interviewing the patient, patient family, calling local pharmacies and using other available resources
Enter the information obtained into a computer system
Provide information to physicians and other health care providers to determine treatment plans and medication orders during and post discharge from the hospital
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Must be licensed with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or have an LPN license before the onset of duties
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work in stressful environments
The ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
This is a safety sensitive position
Normal hospital environment

May lift and carry up to 35 lbs
Preferred
National certification for pharmacy technicians
Acceptance into a professional post graduate program (medicine or pharmacy)
A minimum of 2 years experience
Pharmacy/healthcare experience with direct patient care roles
