MaineHealth is seeking a Senior Director - Clinical Research to oversee the clinical arm of their research enterprise. This role will drive the growth of clinical research programs and act as a liaison between clinical departments, while providing strategic oversight for the NNE-CTR grant and ensuring alignment of research initiatives with clinical priorities.

Responsibilities

Oversee the clinical arm of the research enterprise

Act as a strategic liaison between MHIR and all of MaineHealth’s clinical departments

Drive the growth and transformation of clinical research programs

Work closely with service line leaders to expand clinical trial activity across all departments

Foster new partnerships with industry sponsors

Serve as the Principal Investigator for the Northern New England Clinical and Translational Research Network (NNE-CTR) grant

Provide strategic oversight of NNE-CTR infrastructure and scientific direction

Collaborate with existing NNE-CTR administrative staff to manage grant deliverables and pilot programs

Support junior investigators

Lead the planning and submission of the next NNE-CTR renewal

Act as the primary clinical liaison between MHIR and MaineHealth clinical departments

Ensure alignment of research initiatives with clinical priorities

Spearhead efforts to expand clinical trial activity across all departments and service lines

Support the integration of Biobank resources, sample testing, and trial partnerships

Contribute to research data governance, policy development, and long-term strategic planning for MHIR
