IMCS Group is seeking a Financial Advocate / Patient Access Representative. The primary function is to perform financial screenings of patients and serve as the main contact for patient education regarding insurance benefits and billing processes.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that all accounts have been cleared for billing
Obtaining insurance authorization for services
Securing payment arrangements (including collection of co-payment/coinsurance) prior to patient discharge and for major outpatient services
Identification of other potential payment sources (including Financial Assistance program)
Initiating/completing the Medical Assistance application process
Providing costs estimates

Qualification

Advanced knowledge of insuranceCustomer service skillsOrganizational skillsCommunication skillsConflict resolution

Required

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Effective organizational skills, including ability to prioritize, problem solve, and resolve conflict
Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with patients and families
Advanced knowledge of insurance, including government assistance programs
Must be able to work under considerable stress, using tact and diplomacy
