Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications focused on fixed income trading platforms, especially for municipal bonds and credit trading
Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Implement new features and optimize existing code for performance and reliability in a high-volume, low-latency trading environment
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines
Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation
Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to fixed income trading and Java development

Required

Strong Java programming expertise with 7+ years of professional experience
Deep knowledge of Fixed Income products, particularly Municipal Bonds and Credit instruments
Proven experience in electronic trading platforms (eTrading) for credit and fixed income markets
Familiarity with financial concepts such as bond pricing, yield curves, credit risk, and market data feeds
Experience with messaging systems (e.g., JMS, Kafka), RESTful APIs, and multithreaded application design
Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and performance tuning
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred

Exposure to market data protocols (e.g., FIX, FAST) and FIX engines
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of quantitative finance or experience working with quants
