Responsibilities

Development and Testing of new X1/Flex/Xumo TV/Streaming box Software, including DevOps operational readiness and reliability engineering focus

Team is shifting toward a cross-functional model

Current testing is heavily manual; goal is to reach ~80% automation coverage by mid-year

Contractor will work closely with senior engineers to:

Expand automation test coverage

Drive automation strategy and execution

Only one tester being added; multiple engineers joining → strong need for efficiency and automation expertise

Supports Client's on-device commerce applications

Cypress automation testing (hands-on experience required)

Automation testing experience (integration suite coverage)

Self-starter mentality; ability to take initiative and ownership

Software development background

Targeting ~5 years total engineering experience

Started in software development and moved into SDET

Less than 5 years specifically in SDET, but still 5 overall engineering experience

Preferred

Lightning JS experience (not required, but beneficial)

Python (helpful, not required)
