Responsibilities
Develop textiles and trims (fabrics for outerwear/bodywear, zippers, elastics, patches, prints) for seasonal collections.
Partner with Design, Product Management, Innovation, Merchandising, Technical Development, Sustainability, Sourcing, and Manufacturing.
Kick off material development, manage end-to-end process, connect with partners/suppliers, assess garment performance, and oversee product testing.
Build strategic plans/roadmaps for key projects and execute to completion.
Provide industry trend insights and innovate new material solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree minimum (e.g., Textile Engineering, Apparel Science/Design, or related field)
5+ years' experience in materials development role, specifically textile development background (creating fabrics for outerwear, bodywear, etc.)
Trim experience (zippers, elastics, patches, etc.)
Organized and detail-oriented
Proficiency with tools: PCX, Miro, Smartsheets, PPS (Product Data Management/Smartsheet experience noted)
Understanding of design/development process from inception to adoption
Preferred
PMP certification or equivalent proving ability to manage complex work
Experience developing performance materials (e.g., swim-related) or with similar brands
Expertise in Print development
