Electrophysics Engr/Scien - Electromagnetic Compatibility

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a highly experienced engineer to join their Electromagnetic Effects Group. The role involves developing and validating Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and ensuring the Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of various Defense, Space, and Security programs.

Responsibilities

Performing complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design for E3 performance
Working under minimal direction to achieve Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure
Interfacing with manufacturing for complex E3 aspects of the designs and coordinating with suppliers to ensure compatibility at the system level
Reporting achievements and issues to program management and customers
Supporting project management by coordinating the development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews
Developing and implementing Test Automation for aircraft modifications
Applying EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems
Performing trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other forms of analyses to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design
Applying conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and tests
Working on a cross-functional support team and communicating clearly in various review boards both internally and externally
Processing engineering data into meaningful tables and graphs for inclusion into reports

Required

Candidate must be willing to work on Artech's W2 and must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a security Clearance post starting this position
Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, or physics
Familiarity with Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time as required
7 or more years of related work experience (Expert Level)
Familiarity with the defense or aerospace industry
Prior experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)
Foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 analytical software tools

Preferred

Previous experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC
Experience with EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRU's, including reviewing procedures and test reports
Familiarity with aircraft-level E3 requirements and test methods within MIL-STD-464
Familiarity with electrical bonding best practices in support of E3 compliance
