Extrusion Technician (1st shift)

Continental Plastic Corporation is a manufacturer and supplier with over 50 years of experience. They are seeking an Extrusion Technician to operate and maintain production machines, ensuring quality output and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and production orders to perform required tasks such as tasks to set up, load materials, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, clean, and complete preventive maintenance on assigned machines
Setting up and operating single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
Checking machine output and identify any issues. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications
Boxing tubes, filling out tags, inspect and gauge tubes. Observing and assessing tubes, communicate and recommend changes and adjustments
Keeping updated records on all machine information and activity, defective units, and final output. Communicate with team members and support staff across shifts, to ensure continuous production of quality parts with minimal waste

Required

Education, training, and experience equivalent to a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 months of machine operating experience (preferably in extrusion) in an industrial setting
Coursework should be supplemented with mechanical systems
Possess a basic knowledge level of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
Must possess a solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods involved in machining processes and applicable safety and OSHA requirements
Must be able to attain forklift licensure
Must possess the ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives
Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint
Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and managing time effectively
Ability to work independently, managing job orders and deadlines while maintaining an awareness of other business dependencies, when completing assigned duties
