Responsibilities

Draft and proofread legal documents, including all types of pleadings and correspondence
Manage the engagement letter and conflicts process
Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia
Serve as the point of contact for clients, guests, and vendors
Manage general office operations, including office events and mail delivery

Required

5+ years of assistant/secretarial or administrative support experience in a commercial litigation department/practice
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients
E-filing of pleadings in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia
Proficient in technology, Microsoft Office (and in particular expertise in Microsoft Word) and document management software (experience with iManage a plus), and able to effectively use other litigation software
