In this role, you will provide direct patient care, develop care plans for diagnostic imaging patients, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment while supporting patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Use therapeutic communication in daily practice

Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment

Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients

Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process

Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care

Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver

Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement

Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment

Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs

Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned

Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization

Qualification

RN LicenseBLS CertificationACLS CertificationRadiation SafetyCritical Care ExperienceTherapeutic CommunicationPatient Care Supervision

Required

Graduate of an accredited school or professional nursing

Associate's Degree required, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position

Current RN License in the State of Texas or compact license

Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Current ACLS issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Experience with radiation safety required

Preferred

Critical care experience preferred

Experience with infant to adult radiology patients, preferred
