Facilities Equipment Technician I - Plumbing
City of Mesa is seeking a Facilities Equipment Technician I to perform skilled plumbing work in City buildings. The role involves a wide variety of tasks related to plumbing systems and may include supervising other workers.
Responsibilities
Perform skilled plumbing work in City buildings
Perform a wide variety of skilled tasks in plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures
Exercise lead supervision over semiskilled and unskilled workers
Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine the proper method of repair
Use appropriate safety equipment and procedures in performing assignments
May be assigned to Facilities Maintenance or Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities
Subject to stand-by duty and 24-hour call-out
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of a plumbing trades apprenticeship program (must provide certification of completion)
Considerable (3 - 5 years) commercial, journey-level plumbing experience
Must possess a valid Class D Arizona Driver's License by hire or promotion date
Pass a background investigation through the City of Mesa Police Department, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Federal Bureau of Investigation prior to commencing employment
Subject to pre-employment or pre-placement alcohol, drug and/or controlled substance testing
Preferred
Good (1 - 3 years) experience working with computers and Energy Management Systems
