Amrize, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, is seeking a Lead Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at the Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. This role involves supervising maintenance mechanics, performing diagnostics and repairs on quarry equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of maintenance mechanics during shift operations to ensure efficient and safe equipment maintenance
Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, and heavy machinery
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all maintenance activities
Oversee and execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of machinery
Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts inventory
Collaborate with quarry management to prioritize repair schedules and minimize production disruptions
Train, mentor, and develop junior maintenance personnel to enhance team skills and performance
Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts and tools to ensure availability and prevent delays
Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize downtime
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues before they cause significant problems

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 3 years of required work experience
A strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, particularly those used in quarry operations (e.g., crushers, conveyors, haul trucks, and hydraulic systems)
Experience in leading and supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining high work standards
The ability to quickly identify issues with equipment, diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic failures, and implement effective solutions
Knowledge of safety regulations (such as OSHA) and the ability to ensure the team follows proper safety protocols to avoid accidents and injuries
A detailed-oriented approach to conducting regular inspections and ensuring that equipment is operating efficiently, identifying potential issues before they result in failure
A track record of implementing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of quarry machinery
Strong ability to communicate with both management and team members to coordinate tasks, report issues, and manage schedules effectively
The ability to handle unexpected mechanical issues and respond quickly to emergency breakdowns, minimizing production disruptions
Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and equipment conditions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulations
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators

Preferred

Preferably a technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field, along with specialized training in quarry equipment and machinery
