SETC Effectors System Engineer II – Failure Investigation (FIT) Lead

Responsibilities

Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team through failure investigations
Perform Root Cause Analysis and communicating status to program leadership
Oversee and execute data collection in support of the failure investigation
Provide recommendations on changes to design, operation strategy, and test strategy to eliminate failure recurrences
Execute as the program point of contact for all failure investigation
Generate thorough test reports of investigation findings and recommendations
Review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with existing standards with the ability to identify concerns, suggest solutions, and follow through to closure
Support Proposal and EAC activities
Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which may include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages
Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution
Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging
Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations

Required

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or Math and a minimum of Two (2) years of relevant experience
Experience with hardware and software integration, preferably on military platforms
Experience with lab environment, electrical troubleshooting, utilization of lab equipment and hardware builds
Experience working as the lead or team member of an Integrated Product Team
Experience with failure investigations and/or RCCA's (Root Cause Corrective Action)
Experience presenting to leadership
Experience evaluating requirements and with Verification and Validation methods
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Experience creating integration and verification strategies
Experience in RF Datalink Telemetry, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platforms
Experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Experience with missile/launcher/munitions such as TOW, Stinger, Excalibur, or Coyote
Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience
Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle
Experience in establishing and configuring labs including spread benches, Hardware in the Loop Setups, Microsoft and Linux Servers and emulators
