Recreation Fee Clerk & Technician (Seasonal)
The National Park Service is seeking a Recreation Fee Clerk & Technician to collect and account for fees at various locations while interacting with visitors. This role involves serving as a front-line representative, answering questions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities
Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc
Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds
Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions; perform opening and closing functions; issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, etc
Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies needed
Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g. cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.); assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings; communicate audit results to supervisor
Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others. Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement
You will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
Occupancy of government quarters may be required
Must be able to handle, collect, and account for money
You may be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
Quality Ranking Factor: Handling Money - able to handle, collect, and account for money
To qualify for this position at the GS-04 level, you must possess one of the following: One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates your ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Recreation Fee Clerk -OR- Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution -OR- Equivalent combination of experience and education that, together, equal 100% of the qualification standards listed above when combined
To qualify for this position at the GS-05 level, you must possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service -OR- Four years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) from an accredited institution -OR- Equivalent combination of experience and education that, together, equal 100% of the qualification standards listed above when combined
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking
