Responsibilities

Develop algorithms for generating diverse and contextually appropriate recommendations for customers
Investigate methods for integrating various exploration methods and their impacts in the production system
Explore approaches in off-policy evaluation to make improvements on offline benchmarks
Explore various architectures and perform ablation studies for existing production models
Develop data and training pipelines for new models
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required

Enrolled in a university PhD program (strong MSc students are also welcome to apply), with 2+ years research experience in NLP and/or Information Retrieval
Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Preferred

Good programming and software development skills
Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented, applied research environment
Preferred Majors: Computer Science
