The Business Systems Consulting Intern will work closely with engagement leaders to assess business systems, consult with clients on best practices, and assist in system implementation projects.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to assess current business systems (people, processes, and technology)

Convert records for input into new systems

Consult with clients on best practices related to their business processes

Quickly learn systems and applications, and be able to assist clients with system implementation and restructure projects

Participate in conversations with a variety of businesses in multiple industries about how to achieve their business goals

Assist with preparing key findings and analysis reports on client systems

Leading and/or participating in special projects and activities as assigned

Professional/Technical Competence Begins to identify issues and applies accounting principles/assurance procedures

Learns to apply Information Technology tools

Receives exposure to the preparation of business correspondence

Client Focus Receives direct experience working with clients

Completes various audit workpapers and tasks as assigned; examples include cash disbursements, cash balance year-end testing, accounts payable testing, repairs and maintenance, and other areas as assigned

Foot & reference reports before they are finalized

Business Focus Hones communication skills and keeps manager informed of work assignments’ status

Develops strong time and work management skills

Gains a deep understanding of the firm and its capabilities/services
