Responsibilities

Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to develop high-level designs during project discovery phases
Analyze and troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis and developing effective solutions
Translate project requirements into technical solutions, write and test code, and ensure timely delivery of software components
Support users by addressing technical questions and guiding implementation strategies
Mentor small engineering teams, providing documentation, direction, and timelines
Implement coding standards, automate routine tasks, and ensure security compliance in software development
Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and evaluate change requests

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments
Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#
Expertise in debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting complex production issues
Ability to develop scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions aligned with business requirements
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation scripting
Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, project management, and user experience
Knowledge of test case creation, execution, and defect management to ensure high-quality software
Demonstrated capability to lead small engineering teams and mentor associates effectively

Preferred

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and commitment to creating accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture
