Responsibilities
Provide technical and engineering support for a global team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) specialized in the delivery of dark fiber and leased capacity from third-party network providers servicing Google's long-haul and metro networks
Drive program health by defining key performance metrics, monitoring for deviations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure global connectivity goals are met
Oversee, evaluate recommend policies and procedures of network operations, including Bulk Fiber deployments, IP Outside-of-Band (IPOOB) infrastructure, and the management of cross-connections and disconnections
Innovate and scale engineering processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of capacity delivery across geographic regions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
10 years of experience in technical program management, leading projects
10 years of experience in telecommunications, network infrastructure or outside plant design and construction
Preferred
Demonstrated financial acumen (e.g., project budgeting and cost-benefit analysis)
Understanding of fiber optic network design and interfacility connections
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous and changing operational environment
