Senior (Integration & Test) Software Engineer
PlanIT Group is seeking a Senior (Integration & Test) Software Engineer to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The role involves acting independently to advise on information systems issues, performing feasibility analysis, and overseeing software testing activities for complex applications.

Responsibilities
Acts independently under general direction
Advises technical personnel on the conceptualization, development, and implementation of a broad range of information systems issues, including hardware/software integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management
Plans strategies for improvement of information systems and services
Communicates current innovations and trends in information systems development to technical staff
Prepares justification for selection of new technology
May serve as the chief architect for complex information systems development
Designs and develops proposed solutions to business problems and client requirements
Performs high-level system analysis and directs technical strategy for accomplishing new objectives
Maintains knowledge of current systems and system development actions and analyzes for data redundancies and system/program overlap
Responsible for task completion
Performs formal software testing activities for complex software applications
Reviews user requirements documentation; assists in development of test plan; develops test data to be used in performing tests; and transforms test plans into test scripts
Ensures proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in tracking systems
Analyses test results, documents conclusions, and makes recommendations that are fully supported by test results
Performs all functional duties independently
Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s)
Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Application Integration testing
Strong knowledge of ALM product suite (ALM and UFT)
Ability to create test plans based on functional / Technical specs
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as VersionOne
Knowledge of and experience in an IT Service management System (preferably ServiceNow) and ITIL processes
A minimum of Ten (10) years' experience in business analysis, software development and/or related field
Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program
Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel
Extensive knowledge of and experience in software development and testing, preferably using different methodologies and lifecycles (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
Extensive experience evaluating software designs against business and technical requirements to ensure correctness
General familiarity and experience with project management methodologies/disciplines, especially in the areas of scope, cost, and schedule management
Extensive experience leading small teams and/or technical projects in the successful completion of assigned goals/objectives
Extensive experience writing and reviewing a broad range of technical documentation, especially technical specifications, Test Scripts, and design documents
Must be willing to travel (50%)
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check
All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members)
Preferred
A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline is preferred
