The State of Alaska's Department of Health is seeking an Accountant 4 to join their team. This role involves high-level supervisory responsibilities and assisting the Accounting Section Manager in managing the Alaska Medicaid program, overseeing budget management, and leading financial reporting and reconciliation efforts.

Responsibilities
The Accountant 4 will serve as a high-level supervisor and principal assistant to the Accounting Section Manager for a complex and critical unit within the Alaska Medicaid program
Provides oversight of reform and cost-savings initiatives, including management of the Third-Party Liability (TPL) contractor
Supports Medicaid, Allocation, and Audit Services (MAAS) with annual budget management, reporting, and reconciliation across multiple fund sources
Oversees recoveries and collections tied to federal settlements, restitution, commercial insurance, and Indian Health Services (IHS) and IHS-related funding streams
Leads reconciliation and reporting for CMS 64, CMS R-199, CMS-10180, IBNR, Drug Rebates, and Medicaid/CHIP program audits, including legislative audit responses
Qualification
Required
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Analysis and Assessment
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Financial Analysis
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Principles of Accounting
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Reasoning
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Technical Competence
Equivalent to those typically gained by any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management
