Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with Network Security Expertise
VC3 is a managed IT services provider that serves municipalities and organizations across the United States and Canada. They are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect clients' infrastructure, data, and customers by implementing security measures and collaborating with IT teams.

Responsibilities
Understand and follow standards and processes that produce a predictable result for the client. You must be aware of and maintain our standards
Expert-level skills with firewalls and all associated technologies and techniques, such as high-availability, geofencing, DMZs, IPS/IDS, best practice implementation, and support
Configure, manage, and upgrade Firewalls, including management centers and policies. Today, the standard is Cisco firewalls, but could include others in the future
Collaborate with the client and other IT partners on route/switch needs to achieve the desired security outcomes
Configure, manage and support clients network analytics and network access controls
Assist with analysis and response to security events from SIEM’s, Network Access Control, EDR, e-mail security, and other security data sources
This position will be a leader in the development and implementation of zero-trust solutions for our clients
Responsible for assistance in implementation, and maintenance of security tools and services to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s information assets
Assist in conducting security incident investigations
Assisting in the design, documentation, and execution of security related products
Assist in identifying current and emerging issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threats
Conducting proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies
Act as a technical leader for network security solutions, becoming a true subject-matter expert
Develop and deliver written and oral reports to clients, teammates, and management to aggregate and communicate security information and metrics
Participate in threat hunting activities and other special projects as required
Maintain accurate and real time timesheets, record complete and accurate notes of troubleshooting and communication with clients
Receive mentoring and feedback from peers and others
Where appropriate, escalate complicated issues to a more senior resource or other appropriate teams
Review Tickets with Manager
Actively Participate in Team Huddles, L10 Meetings, One on One Meetings, and any other Team Meetings
Create and update documentation when changes or occur, or when discoveries are made
Attend monthly training & team meetings as required

Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to understand and analyze complex issues
Self-motivated, detail orientated, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality
At least five years experience in, information security with demonstrated advanced expertise or experience with security technologies including
An understanding of current and emerging threats and countermeasures and the organizational challenges to addressing these threats
An understanding of Application Security threats and countermeasures
An awareness of information security management frameworks
Demonstrated senior expertise or experience with in depth knowledge of Juniper/HP/Cisco networking switches
Demonstrated senior expertise or experience with in depth knowledge of Cisco/Juniper/Sonicwall/Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls
Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF/EIGRP/BGP)
Proven experience architecting & designing networks
Proven experience with firewall security features (IDS/IPS/ATP)
Strong knowledge of VPNs (IPSEC/Remote Access/OpenVPN)
Azure networking
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
Ability to present complex or highly technical issues in simple and easy-to-understand formats
Ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred
One or more advanced technical certifications is preferred such as CCSP (Cisco), CyRSA (CompTia), CEH (SANS) or other advanced technical/vendor certifications
Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto Experience a plus
