Correctional Programs Supervisor - (Harnett CI)
The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies responsible for the care and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. They are seeking a Correctional Programs Supervisor to develop and implement rehabilitation programs for offenders, supervise staff, and coordinate activities with community agencies.

Responsibilities
Supervising the case management responsibilities of subordinate staff
Developing, implementing, and maintaining one or more major and broad programs for offenders. The primary program areas are offender classification, correctional programs, incentive wage, adult basic education, volunteer programs, religion, recreation, and supportive counseling
Working with community agencies to enrich programs
Monitoring the effectiveness of community volunteer workers assigned to programs activities
Coordinating programs activities with custody staff
Working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent and verbally abusive
Conducting continuous visual and audio surveillance of assigned work area
Preparing written reports and forms reflecting accurate information reviewed from various sources
Operating various office machines accurately
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in corrections or related work
An equivalent combination of education and experience
MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission
Knowledge of supportive counseling techniques
Knowledge of services available to individuals from the community and other public and private programs
