Sr. Inventory Accountant

They are seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant responsible for managing and analyzing inventory transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing detailed inventory reporting to support operational and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly inventory close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and COGS reporting
Monitor and analyze inventory activity across manufacturing sites, 3PLs, warehouses, and field locations, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation
Maintain and reconcile the inventory sub-ledger to the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Support physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards (SOX, FDA/ISO)
Prepare and deliver inventory and COGS reporting and insights for management, FP&A, and auditors
Assist with standard cost updates, annual cost roll processes, and capitalized inventory equipment tracking
Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in inventory or cost accounting
Strong understanding of US GAAP, inventory valuation, cost flows, standard costing, bills of materials, and production order accounting
Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with JDE or a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Ability to analyze large data sets, spot trends, and communicate insights clearly
Excellent attention to detail, organizational strength, and cross-functional communication skills

Preferred

CPA or CMA preferred
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment—medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar—highly desirable
Familiarity with SOX requirements and FDA-regulated environments is a plus
