Sales Coordinator

Responsibilities
Promote Mississippi’s tourism assets across the state and throughout the United States to drive visitation
Execute sales strategies aligned with Visit Mississippi’s tourism and economic development goals
Identify and pursue new domestic market opportunities
Support the Chief Sales Officer in achieving statewide sales targets
Build and maintain relationships with DMOs, CVBs, attractions, and tourism stakeholders
Serve as a liaison between Visit Mississippi and regional/state tourism partners
Foster collaboration among public and private tourism entities
Represent Visit Mississippi at regional and national trade shows and industry events
Conduct sales appointments, presentations, and networking activities
Coordinate pre- and post-event follow-up to convert leads
Support destination development efforts that enhance visitor readiness and marketability
Identify tourism product gaps and emerging opportunities
Provide market insights to inform promotional strategies
Track sales activity and leads using Visit Mississippi systems
Prepare regular reports for the Chief Sales Officer
Collaborate with marketing, communications, and other internal teams
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of destination marketing organizations and tourism industry dynamics
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
Bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality management, business, or a related field
A minimum of 3 years of experience in tourism sales, destination marketing, or hospitality sales
Preferred
Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience
