Legal Invoice Analyst
Axelon Services Corporation is seeking a Legal Invoice Analyst to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure compliance with legal billing guidelines, while also resolving law firm appeals and supporting internal management with performance metrics.

Responsibilities
Conduct quality assurance reviews of legal invoice analysts’ line item adjustments and non-adjusted invoice lines
Verify compliance with legal billing guidelines by law firms and vendors
Ensure accuracy of UTBMS task codes applied to invoice line items
Independently make further adjustments to invoice line items as needed, documenting reasons and identifying billing guideline violations
Resolve law firm appeals by organizing and addressing requests for reconsideration professionally
Review and analyze legal fee and cost/expense in appealed invoice entries
Support internal management in documenting performance metrics for internal use and use with clients and law firms
Communicate and collaborate with audit and appeals team members to resolve ambiguities in client guidelines
Analyze and condense legal service agreements to produce effective operational outputs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school required
0-2 years of experience in a legal services or legal invoice auditing environment
Experience with direct communication with law firms in a legal billing context
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Firm grasp of the Federal and/or State Rules of Civil Procedure
Strong arbitration and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment
Capable of independent thinking and problem solving
Exhibits leadership and planning skills
Ability to partner with technology experts to identify solutions
Self-directed with the ability to translate ideas into action
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to travel domestically in the US independently
Normal office environment
Preferred
Insurance defense and civil litigation experience preferred
Prior legal invoice auditing experience either in-house or with a third party preferred
