Medical Assistant Associate/Assistant (Internal Applicants Only)
The University of Michigan is a leading institution in healthcare education and patient care, and they are seeking a Medical Assistant Associate/Assistant to support patients in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role involves building relationships with patients and performing a variety of clinical tasks across different age groups, including pediatric and geriatrics.

Responsibilities
Room patients and perform standard patient intake including vitals
Assist with minor clinical office procedures
Performs standard medical laboratory/Point of Care (POC) testing
Administer medications/immunizations, injections as directed
Respond to general patient inquiries regarding treatment and clinic policies and procedures
Coordinate patient care with outside health agencies
May complete general administrative duties as assigned including; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Disability and Return to Work forms, Electronic Medical Record in-basket messages, etc
Complete other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients
1-3 years of experience (for Associate Level)
0-1 years of experience (for Assistant Level)
Some office experience (for Assistant Level)
Preferred
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA)
Experience working within a large complex outpatient health care setting
Familiarity with electronic medical records system
