Syndicate Operations Analyst – FI Income Municipal Support

The Syndicate Operations Analyst will support the Municipal Public Finance underwriting and syndicate desks, ensuring operational support throughout the lifecycle of primary market municipal offerings while building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Responsible for operational support throughout the lifecycle of Primary Market Municipal offerings. This includes CUSIP Requests, Good Faith payments, Announcing and Disseminating information in DTCC, posting and monitoring activity during the lifecycle in EMMA/MSRB, funding and final settlement through our third-party custodian
Work closely with Issuers, Financial Advisors, Bond Counsels, Trustees and Syndicate Insurers to lead successful underwriting executions
Support Tender Option Bonds business. Operationally support our activities as remarketing agents and originators through the TOB unwind process and settlement
Support the Commercial Paper Issuance business and our collection of fees as Remarketing Agents
Responsible for managing the syndicate funding account. Tracking and accepting incoming funds resulting from Municipal Syndicate, Remarketing and Trading Desk activity
Monitoring and actioning trade exceptions in the Bloomberg Blotter and Custodian's Settlement platform across Muni Syndicate, Tender Option Bond and Commercial Paper businesses
Cross train with Debt Capital Markets and Global Equity Derivatives Syndicate Operations Desks to aid and assist in a backup support capacity
Acts as a specialist owner or representative in the discipline
Leads / participates in the identification, development and implementation of new products, operating workflow, additional services/applications or operational efficiencies for Global Business Services
Identifies documents, investigates, and resolves service delivery issues
Manages relationships with the client, and other areas of TDS / GBS
Acts as a project manager for small-scale projects/initiatives
Initiates or participates in projects follows project management methodologies, communicates project status and provides timely escalation of issues to senior management to ensure project objectives are met
Interfaces with regulators, external groups (legal firms, accountants etc.), suppliers on operating and service delivery issues relative to the specific area of functional expertise as authorized by the manager
Escalates non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriate
Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provides guidance, assistance and direction to others in TD Securities
Identifies recommend and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline
Analyzes service delivery issues and identifies potential solutions that enhance the customer experience and support TD Securities business objectives
Protects the interests of the firm identifies and manages risks
Completes business process reviews as required
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree in Finance or relevant field
3+ years' experience within Capital Markets Operations: Fixed Income Underwriting & Syndicate Support
Experience with Fed Wire setup and release, invoicing receivables and tracking
Knowledge of Bloomberg TOMS, MSRB EMMA, DTCC, IPREO and Pershing's Nex360 systems. Proficiency with Excel Macros and Python is a plus
Team player who collaborates and motivates others across teams
Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline sensitive environment and maintain strong communication and attention to detail
A self-starter who is comfortable in a complex role that interfaces regularly with clients, front office, technology, finance, and trade support teams
A mindset of critical thinking, risk management and understanding the needs of TDS's clients and internal business partners
Strong judgement and problem solving – Thinks ahead, anticipates questions, finds alternative solutions and identifies clear objectives
Bachelor's degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience
3-4 years related experience
