Design Director (Digital + Motion)

Responsibilities
Lead & Elevate Digital Design (100% Digital)
Lead the end-to-end design execution for launch Drops, creating a cohesive visual system for product announcements, feature releases, and content moments across web and social
Own and refine digital design across static and motion assets
Manage static assets, layouts, toolkits, and visual systems
Apply and interpret 'visual centers' (seasonal style guides) and translate them into high-quality, on-brief assets that scale across surfaces
Ability to work on both design and motion tasks
Provide Motion Expertise
Design responsive, high-fidelity web experiences (landing pages, microsites, and interactive modules) that showcase the client's product capabilities
Bring static assets to life. Create compelling motion graphics, UI animations, and video assets using After Effects to drive engagement on social media and web platforms
Provide motion design direction
Familiarity with After Effects
Help guide vendors on how to bring assets to life
Work Closely With Agency Partners
Function as an extension of the vendor team—joining them 'in the weeds' and collaborating day-to-day
Help onboard agencies into the AI product tool fast, iterative way of working
Provide the practical feedback agencies need to tell the right story—quickly and accurately
Stabilize quality by offering consistent design POV and clear, concise direction
Collaborate Across PMMs, Product, and Creative Ops
Serve as a creative counterpart to PMMs and product stakeholders. Partner closely with Copywriters, Product Marketers, and our trusted agencies to ensure design intent is realized in the final deliverable
Work with our Creative Lead to maintain and evolve the product's design system within Figma, ensuring consistency across all creative deliverables while pushing the brand forward with fresh creative interpretations
Translate technical or product-heavy briefs into clear creative direction
Partner with PMMs with a creative producer mindset—triage asks, provide clarity, and help move assets to the finish line
Qualification
Required
Strong Design Director / Creative Director, with 5 + years of experience–level digital design background that is able to appropriately message stories and content through design Or Experience: 5+ years of experience in digital product design, visual design, or brand design at a tech company or creative agency
Strong portfolio of experience
Expert-level proficiency in Figma (auto-layout, components, prototyping, and design systems are second nature to you)
Strong portfolio demonstrating experience designing for the web (desktop and mobile). You understand the fundamentals of HTML/CSS and how to design for development
A portfolio showcasing impeccable typography, layout, and color theory skills
Must be able to navigate and manage a lot of one time, with a great personality while doing so
Deep understanding of web design, responsive layouts, and asset production
Experience in After Effects (or ability to direct AE workflows fluently)
Demonstrated ability to work quickly without sacrificing clarity or brand consistency
Thrives in environments where assets move through many iterations quickly
Looking for someone who is highly collaborative and fast moving
Able to shoot from the hip with fast, high-quality feedback
Works fluidly in real time—this team is exceptionally fast-paced
Not precious about pixel-perfect craft when speed matters; knows how to 'care, not obsess.'
Comfortable developing and applying seasonal style guides / 'visual centers.'
Able to interpret brand foundations, not reinvent them
Supports 'business as usual' creative—not big campaign concepts, but high-volume digital execution
Experience working closely with creative vendors; comfortable managing and elevating their work
Helps them understand how to tell a brand story in the right way
Provides simple, strategic direction rooted in business context—not artistic perfectionism
Preferred
Competency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
Ability to create smooth UI transitions; have a handle on common motion vocabulary to direct storyboards, hype reels, and product UX ‘replays'
Previous experience working on high-profile product launches or news-style marketing campaigns
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where timelines can shift, and iterating quickly is part of the process
