The State of West Virginia is seeking a Trades Specialist to lead the building maintenance program at Bluestone State Park. The role involves performing various maintenance tasks, supervising staff, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of park facilities.

Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the building maintenance program at Bluestone State Park
Prepare schedules and assign duties based upon priority and need
Perform carpentry work such as building, repairing, and installing counters, cabinets, benches, tables, chairs, partitions, floors, steps, doors, building framework and trim using hand tools and power tools
Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment, working from prints, drawings, or oral instructions
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems; troubleshoot electrical controls
Perform repairs to equipment such as replacing motors, belts, seals, bearings, and blades
Repair dry wall and masonry structures
Repair and replace sinks, toilets, faucets, pipes, drains and water lines
Paint, finish, and decorate surfaces of buildings, equipment, machinery, and furnishings, both interior and exterior
Prepare area; erect scaffolding; clean surfaces; mix paints and allied products
Repair and maintain tools and equipment used
Perform grounds work such as mowing and trimming, removing snow, sweeping sidewalks, and picking up trash
Be available for emergency repairs as scheduled on a 'subject to call' basis
Work directly with other supervisors to plan and conduct repairs and upgrades in related areas
Operate under supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent and must work to foster good employee, community, and park guest relations
Maintain safe work practices for self and other staff
Wear provided uniforms
Perform all other necessary duties as assigned or required
Have valid driver’s license
Regular attendance is a requirement of this position
Perform other duties as assigned and required
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent
Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience or paid self-employment in heating, cooling, ventilation, building maintenance, or building trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, plasterer, welder, machinist, or masonry
Employee must have extensive, practical knowledge of and experience in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electricity, heating/air conditioning
Employee must have valid driver's license
Employee must be available for emergency repairs as scheduled on a 'subject to call' basis
Employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and night shifts
Employee will be able to lift and move heavy objects
Employee will be required to work on ladders and at rooftop heights
Employee will be required within 18 months of their appointment to obtain a Class S Sewage Treatment Plant Operator License
Licenses and any further, advanced, or additional permit licensing and/or requirements necessary to operate the sewage treatment system at the park will be obtained and maintained throughout employment
Preferred
Professional certifications in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electricity, heating/air conditioning will be given considerable weight in the selection process
Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling
