Purchasing Coordinator

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production schedules.

Responsibilities
Manage purchase orders from initiation through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, negotiate pricing, and resolve discrepancies or delays
Collaborate with internal departments such as production, finance, and inventory management to forecast purchasing needs and schedule deliveries
Maintain and update procurement records, including vendor information, contracts, and purchase histories
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to prevent stockouts or overstock situations
Assist in supplier evaluation and selection processes to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance for management review
Support the implementation of procurement best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination
Proficiency with purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Midland, TX (79707 & 79706) facilities
The standard schedule is Monday – Friday; occasionally weekend work may be needed
Due to the nature of this position, there may be days when more than 8 hours is required. This position is eligible for overtime

Preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM)
Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance standards
Ability to analyze data to support cost-saving initiatives
