Advanced Projects Advisor (Climate Solutions Program)

NEOGOV is looking for an Advanced Projects Advisor in the Planning and Climate Protection division to support clean air and health equity initiatives. Responsibilities

Serve as the staff lead for the IWG and be responsible for developing and managing the overall workplan and timelines, and ensuring high-quality completion of all project deliverables
Work with colleagues and external contractors to plan, conduct, and follow up on IWG meetings, including preparing agendas, meeting materials, and communicating with IWG members as needed
Coordinate IWG consultant research projects, including scoping and contracting work, reviewing and commenting on draft work products, and supporting accessible communication and understanding of findings
Work closely with the Air District’s’ internal project team to analyze policy issues, advise on regulatory matters and activities, develop and deliver presentations, and write and review reports, talking points, FAQs and other communication materials for internal and external audiences including executive leadership and the Board of Directors
Provide strategic thinking, organizing and serve as staff lead for the Air District’s broader work on clean buildings

Required

Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in environmental studies, engineering, business or public administration or a closely related field and three years of experience in air quality management

Preferred

Professional experience in climate protection planning and/or GHG mitigation
Knowledge of policy, practices, technology and technical issues related to building energy efficiency and/or decarbonization as well as the electricity system
Experience in leading community and/or multi-stakeholder engagement
Skills in project and program development, delivery, and management
Knowledge of the principles, practices, information sources and trends in air quality, land use, building energy use, and environmental assessment
Knowledge of principles and practices for centering equity and justice in plan and policy development and implementation
Skill in creating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive work environment to promote job satisfaction, empower staff, and maintain good rapport
Ability to lead and direct diverse teams working on complex projects and programs
Ability to effectively and sensitively communicate with a broad and diverse variety of stakeholders, including low-income communities and communities of color
Bilingual proficiency in one or more languages commonly spoken in the San Francisco Bay Area
