Safety Technician

Qualification
Required
Two years experience in a Sacramento County advanced journey level clerical class
Two years experience in a lead or supervisory capacity in a field or maintenance position
An AA degree or 60 semester units, which includes at least 12 units in science from an accredited college or university
Possession of a valid Class C or higher California Driver's License is required prior to appointment
Mobility to work in a typical office setting, using standard office equipment, vision to read printed material, speech to communicate in person and over the phone
May be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
General knowledge of safety practices, policies, and procedures
Grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary
Basic mathematics in order to make calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and averages
A variety of computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Learn safety rules and regulations
Deal tactfully with people
Keep work records and prepare reports
Read, write and speak English at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance
