Senior Engineering Technician

Salt River Project (SRP) is one of the largest public power and water utilities in the U.S., providing electricity to approximately one million customers in the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. The Senior Engineering Technician will assist engineers by performing technical work, compiling and reporting engineering information, and providing engineering support across various departments.

Responsibilities

Supports the engineering staff in maintaining the maintenance programs and modification of existing programs
Writes, tests, and maintains the maintenance programs for various uses
Assists engineers and analysts in the preparation and analysis of system planning studies, reports and presentations
Is project leader for projects, has primary design responsibility, and coordinates efforts of other SRP groups
Contacts outside agencies, such as utilities, government agencies, developers, engineers, manufactures, vendors and others
Provides technical assistance on special projects as required by supervision
Assists engineers in the preparation and analysis, studies, reports and presentations
Provides engineering support and technical expertise to other departments

Qualification

Required

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
A minimum of two years experience using Cascade, SAP and Microsoft Suite software preferred
Technical knowledge on procuring parts for substation equipment
Capable of performing substation site audits independently inside substations
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visa's

Preferred

College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred
