Responsibilities
Lead the development, delivery, and ongoing improvement of recreation, enrichment, and leisure programs
Oversee daily operations of assigned community center programs to ensure safe, effective, and welcoming environments
Supervise, train, and support a diverse workforce while promoting workplace diversity and positive employee relations
Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets and related fiscal activities
Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and operational requirements
Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with community members, groups, organizations, and partners
Conduct proactive communication, marketing, and outreach to increase awareness and participation in programs
Promote community and individual health through inclusive, culturally responsive recreation opportunities
Apply an equity-focused approach to program planning and service delivery that recognizes recreation as a tool for social equity
Qualification
Required
Experience in applying effective supervision to provide leadership to a diverse staff
Experience applying procedures, standards, practices, and trends in the field of recreation or comparable fields
Experience in developing, monitoring, and managing fiscal budgets, including meeting expenditure and revenue targets
Experience connecting with underrepresented communities, ensuring the development and delivery of culturally responsive programs and services
A valid state driver's license and an acceptable driving record at the time of appointment
Preferred
Veteran's Preference documents (e.g., DD214-Member 4, VA Benefit Letter) must be submitted by the closing date
