Amrize is seeking a Powerhouse Operator to join their team at the Alpena Cement Plant. The role is responsible for the safe operation of steam powered turbines and generators, monitoring electrical power distribution, and ensuring adherence to safety policies and environmental health standards.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas

Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business

Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results

Monitors the temperatures and pressure on equipment

Monitors water distribution cycle and water treatment

Monitors the steam cycle and distribution system

Responsible for reporting or correcting mechanical problems of unusual operating conditions

Responsible for maintenance of instruments and charts in prescribed manner.Responsible for training self in the duties of the Powerhouse Operating Technician to prepare for future advancement

Other duties as assigned

Required

Associates/Technical Degree

1-3 years of required work experience

Willingness to partake in additional training to prepare for future advancement

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
