Senior Accountant - GAAP and healthcare financial regulations background
Talentsearchpro is a company seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in GAAP and healthcare financial regulations. The role involves preparing financial statements, overseeing the General Accounting Department, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures while managing physician compensation and contract administration.
Responsibilities
Preparation of interim and annual financial statement to review by the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of the Finance Department (prepares and records journal entries which includes multi-entity allocation, intercompany transactions, handle all general ledger account and maintain all monthly and year end adjusting entries and account analysis)
Preparation of profits and losses, and balance sheet supporting schedules and reports for external auditors and respond to special requests for upper management
Oversees the General Accounting Department and train staff and cross-over for absent employees
On a monthly basis prepare all allocations of physician’s corporate costs to the affiliated entities
Responsible of all reconciliation with all affiliated entities
Preparation of physician compensation and contract administration functions of over 200 physicians (employed and 1099) and responsible of implementing compensation plans/models to show the overall physician strategy under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of the Finance Department to determine and supervise contract administration, regulatory compliance and compliance with physicians’ fair mark regulation
Coordinates with outside auditors (Workers Compensation)
Interface with outside accountant in providing the data needed for preparation of corporate tax return which includes intensive data analysis and research
Preparation of all quarterly and yearly federal and state tax return for affiliated entities
Completion of questionnaires, statistical reports and other financial related forms for governmental agencies, financial institutions and other outside organization
Interface with doctors in resolving questions
Prepare financial data on guaranteed and cardiology doctors
Prepared affiliated entities budgets to be reviewed by the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of the Finance Department
Approve affiliated entities check requests for payment
Handle and dispose of all other matters that come across desk
Handle any requests for special projects
Works on the regular with confidential data
Ensures compliance with the financial procedures of the organization
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in accounting
4 years' experience minimum in accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficient presentational skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, written, and typing skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment
Ability to multitask
Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
Preferred
Master's degree in business administration
