Senior Manufacturing & Quoting Engineer
Confidential is a growing manufacturer of scientific glassware and OEM laboratory components, seeking a hands-on Manufacturing & Quoting Engineer. This role involves supporting customer-driven product development and manufacturing initiatives, translating customer requirements into manufacturable designs, and driving the company’s transition toward advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Engage directly with customers to understand drawings, tolerances, and functional requirements
Evaluate manufacturability, materials, and process feasibility
Create designs, BOMs, routings, and cost estimates in support of quotes
Support the transition from inquiry to prototype to production
Maintain clear, professional communication to keep projects moving forward
Design fixtures, tooling, and workholding using SolidWorks
Support CNC machining and prototype builds
Work with technicians and operators to refine processes for repeatability, quality, and efficiency
Identify opportunities to reduce cost, lead time, and manual effort
Support the development of scientific glassware, assemblies, and laboratory components
Design and integrate mechanical and electromechanical elements
Assist with prototype builds, testing, and production release
Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to manufacturing workflows
Collaborate with operators to develop effective fixtures, work cells, and standard work
Improve cycle times, ergonomics, and consistency
Maintain drawings, BOMs, routings, and part numbers in the ERP system
Ensure engineering documentation supports production, purchasing, and quoting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in manufacturing, machining, or product/process engineering
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Experience with fixtures, tooling, and prototype parts
Exposure to CNC machining
Familiarity with BOMs, routings, and ERP systems
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience with engineering-driven quoting or cost estimation
Background in scientific glassware, optics, or precision components
Experience with electromechanical systems
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Bachelor's (Preferred)
Manufacturing engineering: 10 years (Preferred)
