Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Teradata database software and related tools

Monitor database health and performance using Teradata Viewpoint and other monitoring tools

Perform routine maintenance including space management, statistics collection, and system housekeeping

Analyze and optimize SQL queries to improve performance and efficiency

Implement indexing strategies and partitioning to enhance query performance

Collaborate with developers and data engineers to design scalable and efficient data models

Manage user access, roles, and privileges in alignment with organizational security policies

Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards

Monitor and audit database activities to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches

Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using Teradata tools

Perform data recovery during system failures or data corruption events

Test and validate disaster recovery procedures to ensure system readiness

Forecast storage and compute requirements based on usage and growth trends

Plan and execute system scaling to support increasing data volumes

Coordinate with infrastructure teams for hardware and resource provisioning

Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and performance issues

Provide support during outages and performance degradation

Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
