Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop our engineering team, conducting regular reviews, providing coaching, and fostering technical excellence
Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable to high standards while maintaining morale and addressing performance issues with transparency and fairness
Define technical standards and architectural best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all development efforts
Drive the technical vision, aligning engineering strategy with business objectives
Lead cross-functional technical discussions with design, art, production, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration
Collaborate with senior management on critical trade-offs involving timelines, budgets, processes and software functionality
Proactively identify and remove blockers across engineering initiatives, ensuring teams maintain momentum and deliver on critical milestones
Establish and enforce code quality standards, development processes and optimization efforts
Qualification
Required
10+ years of engineering experience with at least 5+ years of management experience supporting an Engineering team within the gaming industry
Shipped 2+ games with at least 1 in a management capacity
Proven track record of building, leading and developing high-executing engineering teams
Exceptional people management skills with demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and grow technical talent
Familiar with working in game engines, such as Unreal Engine or Unity, with a strong preference towards experience with Unreal 4 or 5
Experience with 3D single and multiplayer games
Experience implementing and championing engineering best practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
