Responsibilities

Perform technical duties supporting engineers and other professionals in areas such as construction inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and program/regulatory compliance
Inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications
Testing of materials
Review of plans
Analysis of engineering-related data
Construction survey/layout
Keeping diaries on project operations
Completing various material reports
Documenting pay records
Performing construction calculation
Computer/iPad entry
Perform concrete tests requiring lifting buckets of concrete
Perform density tests on soils and aggregates requiring digging, weighing, and measuring volumes
Establish and maintain positive lines of communication between other technicians, engineers, contractors, and the general public

Qualification

Required

At least two years of related experience
Ability to perform construction related mathematical calculations
Ability to acquire various certifications, including QMS Asphalt, Concrete Testing, Borrow Pit Sampling and OSHA Certifications
Ability to maintain required certifications to perform the duties of this position
Ability to perform concrete tests requiring lifting buckets of concrete
Ability to perform density tests on soils and aggregates requiring digging, weighing, and measuring volumes
Ability to establish and maintain positive lines of communication between other technicians, engineers, contractors, and the general public
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work in high traffic areas
Ability to work at heights over water or traffic
Ability to work in extreme temperatures
Ability to traverse uneven terrain
Ability to work at night, weekends, and holidays if necessary
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
Safety toe shoes required
Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and or construction surveying
Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
Experience in maintaining neat, legible and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry
Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
